Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed buildings at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Bhagalpur city at a cost of 128 crore. The inauguration was part of the ceremony where the PM was inaugurating 30 newly constructed projects across the country from Jammu and Kashmir. The event in Bhagalpur at the IIIT campus was attended by various dignitaries, including Dr. Ashok Khare, Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIIT Bhagalpur, and MP Ajay Mandal.

PM Modi inaugurated the buildings in Bhagalpur from Jammu and Kashmir, where he inaugurated a total of 30 projects across the country. The IIIT campus in Bhagalpur saw the inauguration of the newly constructed buildings. The event at the IIIT campus was attended by Director of IIIT Bhagalpur, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Jain.

The entire IIIT campus spans 25,000 square meters and includes a permanent campus, academic block, administrative block, lecture halls, computer center and library block, workshop and incubation center, girls and boys hostels, faculty residences, and director’s bungalow. The administrative block is a two-storey building with department head offices, 24 classrooms, and 12 well-equipped rooms. Each classroom has a seating capacity of 120 people and there are 12 laboratories. The library is still under construction and is expected to be completed within a month.

Currently, courses in computer engineering, science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechatronics and automation engineering, and mathematics and computing are being taught at IIIT. In addition, from 2021, MTech and PhD programs are also being conducted.
