Delhi Traffic Advisory
Protests by farmers in Punjab and Haryana continue for the 11th day, with a large number of farmers stranded at the Shambhu, Khanauri, and Singhu borders. The impact of the farmers’ agitation can be clearly seen on the traffic and security situation in Delhi, posing challenges and increased difficulties for the Delhi Police and residents of the national capital. Keeping this in mind, the Delhi Traffic Police has once again issued a traffic advisory.
Traffic Concerns
The Delhi Police has issued a new traffic advisory stating that vehicle movement at the city’s borders will be affected due to checkpoints and inspections. Travelers are advised to pay attention to traffic advisories and adhere to the rules in these areas to avoid traffic congestion and possible delays.
Possible Traffic Jams
According to the Delhi Police traffic advisory, checkpoints and inspections at places like Lekh Khurd Border, Mandi Border, Aya Nagar Border, DND Flyway, Kalindi Kunj, Badarpur, Palla, Surajkund, and Karni Singh Shooting Range areas may affect traffic today. People traveling to and from Haryana have been diverted towards Zero Palla, Singhu School Toll, Piao Maniyari, Saboli, Safiabad, and Lamapur. Heavy traffic is expected on these routes throughout the day, and vehicles are being allowed passage after proper inspection.
Singhu Border Completely Closed
The NH-44 beyond the Singhu Border has been completely closed for regular traffic. NH-44, along with other connecting roads like Sonipat-Panipat, are also affected, but remain open for the general public. Travel advisory suggests that traffic from Gurugram on NH-8 should take MG Road via Iffco Chowk and Shankar Chowk for smoother movement.
