The victim has been identified as Meenata Devi, the wife of a deceased technician from the Railway Workshop in Mokama Dariyapur. The incident took place at Madhurichowk Railway Colony Road No. 13. Upon receiving the information, the local police reached the crime scene. They found the woman with a yellow shawl wrapped around her neck, lying semi-naked on the bed. In the adjacent room, a chair was overturned, and two medical evidence kits were found on the table. Additionally, a rope was found on the bed. The police suspect that the woman was strangled to death.

It was reported that the woman lived with her daughter, but the daughter was missing that day, raising various suspicions.
