**New Twist in Group Assault Case in Kumarbagh OP, Bettiah**
A new twist has emerged in the case of a group assault that took place in Bettiah, Bihar. The incident is being linked to a love story by the people. The victim’s statement has led to the case being registered as an attempted group assault and assault. The incident took place in the Kumarbagh Thana area of West Champaran district, where on Thursday, it was reported to the victim’s family that a group assault had taken place with the eighth-grade student. The victim has accused the perpetrators of attempting group assault and physical assault in her statement to the police. Meanwhile, according to rural sources, the case is linked to a love story. The police have arrested all the accused involved in the incident.
**Student’s Account of the Incident**
The victim student told the police that she had left her house on Thursday morning at nine o’clock to go to school to take an exam. After a two-hour exam, she was returning home. During that time, she reached a deserted place near a temple and garden. It was then that three residents of Dube Tola, Pradeep Kumar, Basant Kumar, and Shailish Paswan, arrived on a bike. The three of them pulled her hair and tried to take her to a secluded place to do wrong things, and all three started trying to do wrong things with her. When she resisted, all three slapped and punched her in the face, injuring her. She then lost consciousness. The victim said that when she opened her eyes, she found herself admitted to GMC Bettiah, and she was shocked.
**Arrest of the Accused**
The police have arrested the accused involved in the case, including Pradeep Kumar (19), Basant Kumar (20), and Shailish Paswan alias Sheru (19), residents of Kumarbagh Thana area. SDPO-Vivek Deep informed that the student had reported that the three youths had assaulted her. She was not sexually assaulted. Meanwhile, the police had arrested the accused three youths involved in the incident within just five hours of the incident, taking prompt action.
**Investigation and Victim’s Condition**
Upon receiving information about the incident, an FSL team from Muzaffarpur arrived to investigate the attempted assault case. However, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at GMC. The Director of GMC, Dr. Sudha Bharti, mentioned that the girl’s condition is gradually improving. Currently, she is out of danger.
