The New Competitor: Toyota Taisor

Toyota has introduced an impressive new SUV, the Toyota Taisor, in India. The company has trademarked the name “Urban Cruiser Taisor”. The vehicle is set to be a rebranded version of the Maruti Fronx. The Maruti Fronx is built on the same platform as the Baleno, which Toyota sells in the Indian market under the name Toyota Glanza.

Design and Style

The design of the Maruti Franks is based on the Baleno. Elements from the Maruti Grand Vitara will also be used to give it a striking styling. This new subcompact crossover from Toyota will use the same formula, borrowing design elements from the Hirider. This will make its look different from the Fronx, although its side profile may remain similar.

The Engine

The Toyota Taisor will have a similar engine to the Fronx. It is expected to feature a 1.2-litre K-series naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine. These engines will have the capacity to generate power of 89 BHP and a torque of 113 NM. The vehicle will be offered with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option.

The Features

The Toyota Taisor is expected to have similar features as the Maruti Franks. The cabin of the new Urban Cruiser Taisor will feature a different color theme and upholstery. It is expected to include features such as a 9-inch touchscreen, auto climate control, head-up display, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, connected car tech, cruise control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, and an electronic stability program (ESP).
