Discussion on Pakdaua Vivah in Bihar Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Warning Against Pakdaua Candidates
The spokesperson of JDU, Neeraj Kumar, has warned politicians to be cautious about the issue of “Pakdaua” candidates in several districts of Bihar. This practice involves forcibly marrying wealthy bachelors to women, regardless of consent. Neeraj Kumar has appealed to political leaders in a witty manner to be mindful of this issue, especially in the context of the grand alliance.
Congress Candidate Announcement and Political Reactions
While Congress has only announced candidates for 3 out of 9 seats in Bihar, JDU and BJP are directly competing in the state. The JDU’s sharp attacks have led to a shift in focus towards Congress. Senior Congress leader, Premchand Mishra, believes that the situation for BJP is deteriorating in Bihar due to the strong candidates fielded by other parties. This has caused unease among BJP leaders, leading to anxious statements from their end.
