Heat Wave Alert in Bihar
The weather department has issued a heat wave alert in Bihar for the upcoming days as the temperature has already crossed 40 degrees Celsius in 9 cities of the state. The capital city, Patna, is experiencing a continuous increase in temperature, with several districts recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius on April 4th. The hottest district on Thursday was Buxar, where the temperature reached 42.2 degrees Celsius. Other districts like Khagaria, Nawada, Dehri, Siwan, Banka, and Bhojpur also saw temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
Dry Weather with Fluctuating Temperatures
Currently, Bihar is experiencing dry weather due to the influence of northwesterly winds, but there is also a fluctuation in temperatures across the state. The Meteorological Center in Patna has forecasted that there might be partial cloud cover in and around Patna on April 8th and 9th, with a possibility of light showers. However, after this brief change, the heat wave is expected to intensify in the region.
Impending Heat Wave in Bihar
According to the weather department, a heat wave is expected to hit Bihar from this date onwards, with a likelihood of the capital city, Patna, along with many districts experiencing the heat wave after April 10th. The flow of northwesterly winds in Bihar is expected to continue until April 7th, with a possibility of rising temperatures. A cautionary warning has been issued to the general public to be vigilant and pay special attention to health, especially for school-going children.
