**Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren faces setback in Jharkhand High Court**
Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren has received a setback from the Jharkhand High Court. The court dismissed the petition challenging Soren’s arrest and also rejected the interim bail plea. The decision was kept on hold by the High Court executive justice and judge Navneet Kumar’s bench after the completion of the hearing on 28th February.

While Hemant Soren was denied bail, he was granted permission to attend his uncle’s funeral ceremony on 6th May. However, he was instructed to stay away from the media during this period. The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by Hemant Soren on 6th May, as there was a delay in the decision-making process in the High Court.
**Setback for Hemant Soren in the Special PMEL Court in Ranchi**
Earlier, on 27th April, Hemant Soren faced a setback in the Special PMEL Court in Ranchi. He was denied interim bail in a land scam case. Hemant Soren had requested a 13-day interim bail to attend his uncle’s last rites. However, the court rejected the bail plea during the hearing.
**Investigation related to 8.86 acres of land in Ranchi**
The investigation against Hemant Soren in Ranchi is related to 8.86 acres of land. The Enforcement Directorate has accused him of illegally occupying the land. The agency has filed charges against Soren, Prasad, and Soren’s alleged frontman Raj Kumar Pahan, along with others, in a Special PMEL Court in Ranchi on 30th March.
