**Intense Competition between RJD and BJP in Darbhanga Lok Sabha**
The fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar’s Darbhanga district will take place on May 13th. Candidates from both RJD and BJP are actively campaigning with their supporters. Today evening, the election campaign in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency will come to a halt. BJP’s state president Samrat Choudhary will hold a roadshow in support of their candidate Gopalji Thakur. On the other hand, RJD candidate Lalit Kumar Yadav will address a public meeting in support of his candidature. All are claiming victory for their respective candidates while the current MP is gearing up for a second term.
**RJD Changes Strategy by Fielding Lalit Kumar Yadav instead of a Muslim Candidate**
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP replaced former MP Kirti Azad with current MP Gopalji Thakur. Thakur won the election with a record number of votes, securing 62.11% of the total votes in the constituency. RJD candidate Abdul Bari Siddiqui received 33.74% of the votes. This time, RJD has fielded Lalit Kumar Yadav to bridge the vote percentage gap and is giving a tough fight to the BJP candidate. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and VIP chief have campaigned in Darbhanga for four days, while PM Modi has addressed a massive rally in support of the BJP candidate.
**Caste Dynamics in Darbhanga Lok Sabha**
Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency comprises six assembly segments with a total of 1,774,656 voters. The number of male voters is 933,122, female voters are 841,499, and there are only 35 transgender voters. The area is considered a Brahmin majority region with around 450,000 Brahmin voters and 350,000 Muslim voters. The Sahni voters are around 200,000, while the SC-ST voters are close to 250,000 and the Yadav voters are around 160,000.
**BJP Focused on Winning Third Consecutive Term in Darbhanga Lok Sabha**
BJP is striving to win the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat for the third consecutive time. The party is relying on its cadre and PM Modi’s popularity to secure victory in this election. On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan is banking on its MY equation for a successful outcome.
बिहार के दरभंगा जिले में लोकसभा चुनाव के चौथे चरण में 13 मई को मतदान होगा और इस क्षेत्र में भाजपा और राजद के बीच कड़ा मुकाबला है। भाजपा के उम्मीदवार गोपालजी ठाकुर और राजद के उम्मीदवार ललित कुमार यादव के प्रचार में जोर-शोर से जुटे हैं। भाजपा ने पूर्व सांसद कीर्ति आजाद का टिकट काटकर गोपालजी ठाकुर को चुनावी मैदान में उतारा था और उन्होंने पिछले चुनाव में रिकॉर्ड मतों से जीत हासिल की थी। राजद ने इस बार मुस्लिम चेहरे के बजाय यादव चेहरे को उम्मीदवार बनाया है और इससे भाजपा को टक्कर देने की उम्मीद है। दरभंगा लोकसभा क्षेत्र में जातीय समीकरण के हिसाब से ब्राह्मण, मुस्लिम, सहनी, एससी-एसटी और यादव वोटरों की संख्या अलग-अलग है। भाजपा और महागठबंधन दोनों ही अपने उम्मीदवारों पर भरोसा जता रहे हैं और इस चुनाव में जीत के लिए जोर आजमाइश कर रहे हैं।
