Increasing Trend of Cash Crops in Buxar
The trend of cultivating cash crops in the agricultural sector is continuously increasing in Buxar. The government is also paying special attention to this trend and introducing various schemes to help farmers earn more profits. The Agriculture Department is focusing on promoting the cultivation of different fruits to strengthen the economic condition of farmers. In line with this, the decision to promote the cultivation of climate-friendly fruits has been made, with a target set to cultivate coconut orchards in Buxar district.
Online Application Process for Coconut Plantation
Interested farmers in Buxar district can apply online for the coconut plantation scheme through the departmental website. Only registered farmers will be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme. The Horticulture Department is preparing to provide subsidies to farmers at the subsidized rate for planting coconut saplings. Aiming to plant 800 coconut saplings in the district, farmers are required to submit land receipts along with their applications for availing the benefits of the scheme.
Selection Process and Distribution of Coconut Saplings
The selection of farmers for the coconut plantation scheme will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Through the Coconut Development Board in Patna, district-wise saplings will be made available to farmers. The subsidised rate for coconut saplings will be provided to farmers, with a target set to plant 800 saplings to meet the high demand for coconuts in Buxar. The distribution of saplings will be carried out among farmers according to the rules, with each farmer eligible to receive a minimum of five and a maximum of 712 saplings.
