Incident of Mob Violence
After the incident, a crowd gathered. The police from several stations are camping at the scene to control the surging crowd. Upon seeing the attacker, two children saved themselves by hiding under a blanket. The incident took place in the Sukhet village of Jhanjharpur police station area in Madhubani. The police have not been able to catch the attacker yet. The suspect got married five years ago, and the reason for the murder is still unknown. The accused of the murder is said to be a resident of Avam village in Sadatpur police station of Darbhanga.

The accused of the murder is named Pawan Mahato. Pawan’s wife Pinky had been living at her maternal home in Sukhet village of Jhanjharpur for a few months due to arguments with her husband. The dispute with her husband was not resolved. According to information received by the police so far, on Friday night, Pawan Mahato arrived at his in-laws’ house with someone. Here, in a sleeping state, he brutally killed his mother-in-law Pramila Devi (59 years old), wife Pinky (26 years old), four-year-old daughter Priya, and six-month-old daughter Preeti. The police have recovered a blood-stained grinding stone and the handle of wood at the scene.
