According to local residents, the injured contractor, Manoj Rai, a resident of Machhi Gaon in the Sakra Thana area, was shot by two criminals while he was out for his morning walk as usual. He sustained a chest injury from the bullet and fell to the ground. The atmosphere at the scene became chaotic as soon as the gunshot was fired. People rushed the injured contractor, Manoj Rai, to a private hospital in Muzaffarpur for treatment, where his condition is said to be critical. The police have recovered several bullet shells from the scene.

Local residents informed the police about the incident. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and have begun investigating the case. Sakra Thana SHO Raju Kumar Pal stated that two empty shells and two live cartridges were recovered from the scene.
