TVS Motors, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has expanded its electric scooter portfolio by launching the cheapest variant of its popular electric scooter, iQube. The new iQube variant not only costs less but also offers better range and features. This electric scooter is now the highest-selling electric scooter in India after Ola. The launch of TVS iQube’s cheapest variant has put Ola under immense pressure in the Indian electric scooter market.
The new iQube variant offers a range of 75 kilometers on a single charge and a top speed of 75 kilometers per hour. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in just 4.2 seconds. TVS has used a 2.2 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery pack in this cheapest iQube variant, which takes about two hours for 0 to 80% charging. Additionally, the scooter has a powerful 4.4 kW peak power BLDC motor that generates 140 Nm of peak torque.
The new iQube variant comes with several modern features, including a 5-inch TFT display that connects with a mobile app, a USB charging port, turn-by-turn navigation, 30 liters of under-seat storage, and a comfortable long seat for a relaxed ride. TVS has focused on providing the best technology-based features in this new variant.
TVS has priced the new iQube variant at INR 97,299 (approximately $1,300) in Delhi ex-showroom, keeping it within the reach of the common man’s budget. The launch of this cheapest electric scooter variant has given TVS Motors an edge over its competitors in the Indian electric scooter market.
