Video Goes Viral
A video from the Pipra Thana area of Supaul is rapidly going viral on social media. The video shows Inspector Sanjay Das, the Thana in-charge, seemingly giving his consent to illegal collections by the station clerk. In the 1 minute 17-second video, Inspector Sanjay Das is seen justifying the illegal collection by the clerk. The video went viral on social media on Wednesday night, showing not only the Thana in-charge but also two to three other faces. The video also shows the Thana in-charge attempting to explain something to a woman. However, Amar Ujala does not verify the authenticity of this video.

On a complaint of assault, the clerk demanded money for expenses. According to local sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Pipra Thana area, where a dispute over land in Tula Patti Panchayat Ward 3 led to a physical altercation between two parties. In this incident, three people from one party were seriously injured, leading the injured party to reach the Pipra Thana. However, instead of accepting the application at the Thana, they were asked for money. The victim’s party reached the Pipra Thana to file a complaint. The clerk present at the Thana asked for money for expenses. Since the victim’s party was unable to afford it, they were not allowed to file the application at the Thana and had to wait for hours. They eventually met with Thana in-charge Sanjay Das and explained their problem, where the Thana in-charge also started asking the clerk for money.
Demand for Money by Clerk
According to the victim, when the complaint against the clerk was made to the Thana in-charge, he first asked who demanded money. The Thana in-charge then said that they have been running the Thana for 15 years, and every Thana clerk has to pay two to five hundred rupees. It’s nothing new, you want to record it, go ahead. SP Says Investigation Underway
The video from Pipra Thana that went viral on social media also reached the SP Supaul. SP Shaishav Yadav mentioned that an investigation has been initiated as soon as the matter came to light. Appropriate legal action will be ensured in the case.
