Indian Citizen Caught with Gold Biscuits at India-Bangladesh Border in Kishanganj
An Indian citizen has been caught with gold biscuits in the India-Bangladesh border area near Kishanganj. Heavy amounts of gold have also been seized from the region. The incident took place in the South Dinajpur district of West Bengal, under the jurisdiction of the BSF’s 61 Battalion in the Rayganj sector of the North Bengal Frontier.
Arrest and Seizure
The BSF personnel from the BOP Hili-Second of the North Bengal Frontier apprehended the Indian citizen, identified as Jinnat Ali Mandal. He was caught with gold biscuits. Mandal was coming from the Haripokhar village in Baad Gram, when he was stopped and searched. During the search, the BSF recovered 9 gold biscuits weighing 1039.440 grams from him.
Handover to Authorities
The arrested Indian citizen was handed over to the Anti-Smuggling Unit in Hili along with the seized gold biscuits. The authorities have taken further action in the case. The incident highlights the vigilance and efficiency of the BSF personnel in curbing illegal activities along the India-Bangladesh border in the Kishanganj area.
