School Uniform Scheme to be Changed

The format of the school uniform scheme included in various benefit-based schemes operated in government schools will now be changed. Instead of the amount for uniforms, students will now receive stitched clothing. Along with two sets of clothing, school children will also receive a pair of shoes, socks, and a tie. This important decision was taken at the official level under the leadership of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, KK Pathak.

Details of the New Uniform Scheme

According to departmental sources, as per the decision, students from the first to eighth grade of primary schools will receive one set of clothing consisting of a half shirt, half pants, a full shirt, and a full pant. Girls from the first to eighth grade will receive two sets of salwar-kameez. The preparation for issuing tenders for the supply of school dress has intensified across the state.

Preparation for Tendering Process

According to district education office sources, tenders for the supply of school dress will be issued soon across the state. In a meeting held in the presence of the Additional Chief Secretary, decisions were taken to issue tenders soon to provide school dress to students. Under the Chief Minister’s Uniform Scheme, students were previously given a cash amount in their accounts based on 75% attendance.

Quick Decision Making Process

The decision to change the school uniform scheme and provide stitched clothing to students was made quickly at the official level. The focus is now on issuing tenders for the supply of school dress across the state to ensure students receive their uniforms promptly.
