Orange Alert for Heatwave in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heatwave in 14 districts of Bihar. These districts include Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Kaimur, and Buxar. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for 14 other districts in the state.

Record-breaking Temperatures

In the past 24 hours, Buxar recorded the highest temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius. The capital city Patna and several other districts also experienced temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius, leading to discomfort for the residents due to the intense heat.

Weather Forecast and Precautions

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of hot winds blowing at a speed of 40 km/hour between 12 pm to 3 pm today. The department has advised people to stay indoors during this time and keep themselves hydrated with homemade beverages like lassi, torani, lemon water, buttermilk, etc.

Extreme Heat in Bihar

Buxar district has been the hottest with a maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius. Other districts like Bhojpur, Arwal, Aurangabad, Vaishali, Nalanda, Patna, Gopalganj, and Darbhanga have also recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. It is essential for residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this intense heatwave.
