Improving Crop Varieties in Bhagalpur
A joint review of the state-coordinated variety testing program for the improvement and development of various crops is underway in Bhagalpur. The program focuses on Kharif crops such as rice, maize, and pigeon pea. Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, the Director of Research at BAU Sabour, emphasized the importance of this program in enhancing the agricultural economy by conducting programs for a total of nine important crops in Kharif and Rabi seasons. The government will be requested to include new crops in this program to create the best varieties for farmers in the state, thereby increasing their income and strengthening the agricultural economy.
Assisting Farmers with Advanced Varieties
This program is beneficial for farmers in the state as it helps in the development of advanced and farmer-friendly varieties for various crops. During the meeting, good genetic lines for rice, Kharif, maize, and pigeon pea were identified, which will be seen as advanced varieties in farmers’ fields in the future. Dr. A. K. Singh, the Director of Research at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, emphasized meeting the expectations of farmers in the state, with the state-coordinated variety testing program playing a vital role in this process.
Enhancing Agricultural Practices
The significance of the state-coordinated variety testing program lies in its role in enhancing agricultural practices. Dr. D. R. Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of BAU Sabour, believes that creating the best varieties for farmers in the state will not only increase their income but also strengthen the agricultural economy. The identification of improved genetic lines for crops like rice, Kharif, maize, and pigeon pea will contribute to the development of advanced varieties that meet the expectations of farmers and are suitable for the state’s agricultural practices.
भागलपुर में विभिन्न फसलों के सुधार और विकास के लिए चल रहे राज्य समन्वित किस्म परीक्षण कार्यक्रम की संयुक्त समीक्षा बीएयू सबौर के मिनी सभागार में ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन के माध्यम की गई। खरीफ फसल★धान, मक्का और अरहर में चल रहे राज्य समन्वित किस्म परीक्षण की महत्ता की खरीफ और रबी मिलाकर कुल नौ महत्वपूर्ण फसलों में कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं। नई फसलों को इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल करने के लिए सरकार से दरख्वास्त की जाएगी। डॉ. डी. आर. सिंह, कुलपति, बीएयू सबौर की सोच है कि राज्य के किसानों के लिए सर्वश्रेष्ठ किस्म ईजाद की जाए। जिससे किसानों की आय बढ़े और राज्य की कृषि अर्थव्यवस्था का सुदृढ़ीकरण किया जा सके। उन्नतशील प्रभेदों को विकसित करने में मदद मिलतीकार्यक्रम राज्य के किसानों के लिए है क्योंकि इनके माध्यम से विभिन्न फसलों के नए और राज्य के लिए अनुकूल उन्नतशील प्रभेदों को विकसित करने में मदद मिलती है। बैठक में धान, खरीफ, मक्का और अरहर के अच्छे आनुवंशिक लाइनों की पहचान की गई जो आने वाले समय में उन्नत प्रभेदों के रूप में किसानों के खेत में लहलहाते नजर आएंगे। डॉ. ए. के. सिंह, अनुसंधान निदेशक, डॉ. राजेंद्र प्रसाद केन्द्रीय कृषि विश्वविध्यालय, पूसा (समस्तीपुर) ने राज्य के किसानों की अपेक्षाओं पर खरे उतरने की बात कही। जिसमें राज्य समन्वित किस्म परीक्षण कार्यक्रम की महती भूमिका है।
