Abduction and Rape of a Minor in Jamui

A 15-year-old minor girl residing in the Town Thana area of Jamui was abducted by her uncle on 3rd May. She was then taken to the Giddhour jungle where she was raped. Later, she was left at the Malaypur station in Jamui. The victim then reached Patna, where she informed her family about the incident.

Police Action and Investigation

The victim’s family filed a complaint at the women’s police station after a few days of registering the case. On 18th May, the accused along with his accomplices went to the victim’s house and kidnapped her elder sister. The police conducted a medical examination of the minor victim and recorded her statement under section 164 of the CrPC for further investigation.

Family’s Response and Legal Action

The victim’s mother mentioned that the accused, Sachin Singh, who is a distant relative, had kidnapped her daughter along with three unknown friends. After the primary registration of the case against Sachin and his friends, they went into hiding. The police recorded the victim’s statement in court on 6th May. However, no further action has been taken by the police against the accused.

Press Release and Ongoing Investigation

SDPO Satish Suman issued a press release stating that a case of abduction and rape of a minor has been registered in the Town Thana area. The victim underwent a medical examination and her statement was recorded under section 164. A special team is conducting raids at possible locations to arrest the accused involved in the incident.
