Pre-Monsoon Heatwave in Patna

More than half of May has passed, and the heat of pre-monsoon is at its peak in the districts of South-West Bihar. The temperature has reached up to 45°C, causing discomfort to people during the day and disrupting their sleep at night. However, relief from this intense heatwave is on the way, with the weather expected to change from tomorrow. Moisture-laden air is forming rain clouds once again.

Rain Relief on the Horizon

Although people in Patna may be facing the brunt of the heat today, rain is expected to start tomorrow and continue for the next three to four days. The onset of pre-monsoon showers is crucial as it reduces the risk of heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses. Strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km/h may accompany the rain, along with the possibility of thunderstorms. Therefore, it is advisable to stay indoors during the rain and not stand under trees.

Weather Update for Bihar Districts

Today, on May 20th, hot weather conditions will persist in districts like West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Munger, Bhagalpur, Banka, Khagaria, and Jamui. Meanwhile, severe heatwave conditions are expected in Bhojpur, Buxar, Bhabhua, Rohtas, Arwal, and Aurangabad. Some relief can be expected in the other 14 districts with light to moderate rainfall and the possibility of thunderstorms. Caution is advised to avoid any inconvenience.
