1. Voting in 5 Bihar Seats, 8.86% Turnout by 9 am
Voting is underway in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar on five seats. By 9 am, an 8.86% voter turnout was recorded. Notably, some booths in Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur reported zero voting due to voter boycott.
2. Iranian President Dies in Helicopter Crash
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, along with 9 others, died in a helicopter crash in Varzegan city near the Iran-Azerbaijan border. The crash occurred while returning from a dam inauguration event.
3. Gujarat ATS Busts Drug Peddlers, Seizes Drugs Worth 400 Crores
The Gujarat ATS, along with other agencies, seized 173 kgs of drugs worth over 400 crores. The drug peddlers had kept a Bihari youth in captivity in exchange for drugs.
4. ED Chargesheet on Liquor Policy Case to be Heard in Supreme Court
The Enforcement Directorate’s chargesheet on the Delhi liquor policy case will be heard in the Supreme Court. The ED has accused Arvind Kejriwal and AAP in the case.
