UPSC Success Story: A Tale of Determination and Grit
Dominic Haokip and his sister Haichinghoi Haokip from Churachandpur area in Manipur have set an example for the youth by not only preparing for the UPSC exam amidst challenges and unrest but also achieving success in the exam. Despite facing difficult circumstances and a volatile environment, they were determined to excel in their preparation and show resilience.
Facing Challenges and Finding Support
During their preparation, the siblings faced violence in Manipur. Despite this, they remained focused on their studies with the support of their family. Their mother stayed up all night to monitor their studies and encouraged them to concentrate on their preparation. With financial assistance from their elder brother, Dominic was able to pursue his studies without any hindrance, while their parents always emphasized the importance of faith in God.
Success Against All Odds
After shifting their exam center to Delhi due to the unrest in their state, Dominic and Haichinghoi achieved success in the UPSC exam. Dominic secured the 994th rank in his first attempt, while Haichinghoi got the 898th rank in her third attempt. Their journey showcases determination, perseverance, and the unwavering support of their family in the face of adversity. Their story is not only inspiring but also a testament to the power of hard work and belief in oneself.
