Violent Incident in Ram Janaki Temple
In the Ram Janaki Temple Math in the Fulwariya village of Khusrupur block in Patna, a 60-year-old main sadhvi named Sita Sahchar was beaten to death by four brothers of the village on Monday night. The incident has caused tension in the area, and the reason behind it is not clear. The sadhu’s head was also injured in the attack, and he stated that he was attacked when he tried to stop some youths from misbehaving outside the temple.
Attack on Sadhvi Sita
According to Sadhu Sharan Shastri, he was outside the temple around 10 pm when some youths from the village, who were already standing nearby, tried to misbehave with him. When he refused, they physically assaulted him. When he protested, they attacked his head, causing it to split open. Sadhvi Sita also arrived at the scene upon hearing about the incident and was also attacked. She fell to the ground during the altercation and succumbed to her injuries.
Police Investigation and Postmortem
As soon as the incident was reported, the Khusrupur police station was informed. The police sent the body for postmortem to Patna. The four brothers from the same family near the math are the ones responsible for the incident. Sadhu Sharan Shastri mentioned that a police team from Dial 112 had arrived at the scene that night, after which all the accused fled. The police are currently searching for them.
