Success Story of Soumya Beelagimath
Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for the UPSC exam, but only a few are able to pass it. Those who are successful in this exam join as officers in the IAS, IPS, IFS, and other cadres. One such success story is that of Soumya Beelagimath from Dharwad, Karnataka, who passed the UPSC exam in her fourth attempt without any coaching.

In the UPSC exam of 2023, Soumya secured the 101st rank, achieving success in the Civil Services exam. Hailing from Davangere district in Karnataka, she holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. With consistent preparation for the past four years, Soumya cleared the exam on her second attempt and may now be eligible for IPS.
Education and Preparation
Coming from a family with an agricultural background, Soumya’s father runs a plantation nursery while her mother is a homemaker. With a strong academic background, Soumya excelled in her studies and chose Human Sciences as her optional subject. Despite not joining any coaching classes, she dedicated 7-8 hours daily to her studies, fulfilling her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
