Body Found of Married Woman in Gopalganj
In the village of Jamunaha Sidharia in the Kataya Thana area of Gopalganj, the body of a married woman was found hanging from the noose in her room. The police have sent her for post-mortem at the Sadar Hospital and are investigating the case.
Accusations of Murder by In-Laws
The relatives of the deceased woman from her maternal home have accused the in-laws of committing the murder by hanging her. The deceased woman has been identified as Khushboo Khatoon, the wife of Abbas, a resident of Sidharia Jamunaha village in the Kataya Thana area.
Pressure on the Newlywed
It is said that the father, Haider Ali, from the Thawe Thana area of Pattan Patti village, had married his daughter Khushboo Khatoon to Abbas, the son of Tasawar Sah, from Sidharia Jamunaha village, ten months ago. Just a few days after the marriage, pressure was put on the newlywed by the husband, in-laws, and sister-in-law to demand a fridge.
Allegations of Harassment
Due to the lack of money, the demands were not fulfilled, leading to physical abuse and harassment of the woman. On Tuesday evening, the girl called her mother, informing her about the physical abuse by the in-laws due to the unmet demand for a fridge. The mother assured her that they would buy it when they had the money. However, on Wednesday night, news came that her body was found hanging from a noose.
