वैशाली के रहने वाले संजय सहनी ने बताया कि वे पिछले 10 वर्षो से खरबूजा की खेती कर रहे हैं, जिसमें बीज बोने का सही समय 15 से 30 जनवरी के बीच होता है। इसकी खेती में प्रति एकड़ 10 हजार रुपये की लागत आती है, लेकिन अगर मौसम मेहरबान रहता है तो प्रति एकड़ 50 से 60 हजार रुपये की कमाई हो जाती है। पांच एकड़ से चार महीने में तीन लाख से अधिक की कमाई हो जाती है।
