Struggle and Persistence
Pratiksha, hailing from Latur, Maharashtra, faced numerous failures while preparing for the UPSC exams. Despite facing setbacks, she did not lose hope. Eventually, she succeeded in the Indian Forest Service exam. Coming from an academic background (her father being a lecturer), she had a conducive environment for studying at home. After completing her BTech in Mechanical Engineering, she chose to prepare for civil services instead of opting for a job.
Ups and Downs
Pratiksha first attempted the UPSC exam in 2015 but faced failure in the prelims. Despite unsuccessful attempts in 2016 and 2017, she continued her efforts. In 2018, she passed the UPSC exam but missed selection by 4 marks. Even after four consecutive attempts, she did not give up and appeared for the exam in 2019. After facing multiple failures, she decided to take a different path by opting for State Forest Services.
Success Against All Odds
In 2019, Pratiksha was determined to appear for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam despite facing health issues. She managed to pass the prelims but was diagnosed with dengue during the mains. Despite family pressure to give up, she continued with the exam and eventually succeeded. With dedication and perseverance, she achieved her dream of becoming an IFS officer, securing the second rank nationwide in the 2024 UPSC IFS exam.
