Police Crackdown on Cartridge Smugglers in Bhagalpur
In a major operation on Friday, the police in Bhagalpur took action against cartridge smugglers during a vehicle checking drive. Two smugglers were arrested by the police during the checking drive, and a total of 19 cartridges were recovered from them. The two youths were reportedly heading towards Buddha Chak with cartridges in hand when they were apprehended by the police.
Arrest and Interrogation of the Smugglers
When the police conducted a check near Buddha Chak, the two individuals attempted to flee. However, the police managed to catch up with them, leading to the recovery of the cartridges. The arrested smugglers are currently being interrogated by the police. One of the smugglers has been identified as Pintu Kumar, son of Suraj Mandal from Khawaspur in the Achari Thana area, while the other is Nandan Kumar, son of Pramod Mandal from Kahlagawan.

Providing details, DSP Arjun Kumar Gupta held a press conference on Friday and informed that the checking drive was being conducted near Buddha Chak. The apprehended individuals were riding a motorcycle and attempting to smuggle cartridges. The police managed to apprehend them, leading to the recovery of 19 cartridges, two mobile phones, and a Glamour motorcycle. Pintu Kumar, one of the arrested smugglers, has a criminal history, and is currently out on bail.
Further Investigation and Action
The police are now investigating where the cartridges were intended to be delivered. Backward and forward links are being traced in the case. Meanwhile, the police have initiated further action against the arrested smugglers, with a primary case registered against them as the investigation continues.
