Bihar Braces for Impact of Cyclone Remal

The cyclonic storm Remal, which originated in the Bay of Bengal, has made landfall in coastal areas with wind speeds of around 110-120 km per hour. The impact of this storm is expected to be felt in Bihar as well, according to scientists at IMD Patna. While the effects will be moderate, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in the eastern districts.

Weather Update for Bihar

Due to Cyclone Remal, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Munger, Banka, and Jamui on May 27. The wind speed is expected to be around 30-40 km per hour with occasional lightning. Other districts in Bihar are not expected to be affected by the storm.

Heatwave Conditions in Bihar

Most districts in Bihar are experiencing heatwave conditions, with IMD issuing alerts for hot days in all districts except for the eastern regions. Hot weather is expected in Madhubani, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Buxar, and Nalanda, while hot nights are predicted in Patna, Darbhanga, Rohtas, and Nalanda. The temperature in 14 districts has crossed 40 degrees Celsius, with Buxar recording the highest daytime temperature of 43°C.
