Naxal Attack on BSNL Workers in Ranchi
Last night, Naxals created havoc on the main road of Macluskieganj-Chama in Ranchi. Four armed Naxals set fire to the container of Singh Infratech Private Limited, which was laying optical fiber for BSNL, resulting in the death of a laborer named Sanjay Bhuinya. The victim was sleeping inside the container at the time of the incident. Sanjay was a resident of Chali Dohar in Aurangabad district of Bihar. The incident occurred near Tilaiya Tand Dulli at around 11 pm.
Police Investigation and Action
After receiving the information, Ranchi’s SSP Chandan Sinha reached the spot along with his team for investigation. The police are conducting raids to apprehend the Naxals responsible for the attack. The Naxals had set fire to the container by throwing petrol last night, causing extensive damage.
Details of the Incident
According to the information available, Singh Infratech Private Limited was laying optical fiber for BSNL in the area where the incident took place. The laborers were asleep while working late at night. There were a total of eight laborers working, with one laborer sleeping inside the container while the others were sleeping on top of it.
Naxal Attack and Aftermath
In the wee hours of Tuesday night, around four armed Naxals arrived and the employees started running helter-skelter upon seeing them. The Naxals then threw petrol from a can they brought with them, set fire to the container, and fled after firing shots. The incident resulted in the destruction of HDD machines, DG trucks, and the container. The police and fire department were informed immediately, and they managed to extinguish the fire after reaching the scene.
