Fire in Surya Apartment 9th Floor Flat

A fire broke out in the 9th floor flat of Surya Apartment, a 10-storey building, on Wednesday evening at 8 pm. After a strenuous effort of 3 hours, the fire was brought under control. However, even after 12 hours of the incident, electricity and water supply have not been restored, causing distress to the residents.

Incident Details

At around 7:30 pm, smoke started coming into the gallery of the 8th floor, where an active CA office was located. The smoke quickly spread, prompting everyone to evacuate. The fire escalated rapidly, but luckily, all residents had already evacuated the building by then.

Quick Response and Evacuation

The driver of the studio operated in the apartment, Sanjeev Sinha, recounted the sudden appearance of black smoke and flames. He swiftly escorted the owner, O.P. Agrawal, and other residents out of the building using the lift. Prompt action ensured that no major casualties occurred, and the fire brigade arrived just in time to prevent a disaster.

Relief and Recovery

All belongings in the affected flat were reduced to ashes, but the timely evacuation prevented any major mishap. The employees of the World Dialogue Office on the 10th floor were also present during the incident and managed to escape safely. The fire was contained within the room, preventing any further damage to the building or harm to residents on the 9th and 10th floors.
