Tragic Incident in Banka
A young man lost his life in a lightning strike during a light rain spell in the Katoria police station area of Banka. Three other young men were seriously injured in the incident. The four friends were on their way from home to Bahiyar when the tragedy struck suddenly, causing chaos in the village.
Postmortem and Hospitalization
After the incident, the police took the body into custody for postmortem. The deceased, Rohit Kumar, son of Suraj Mohali from Boknama village under the Katoria block, was accompanied by his friends Purnan Mohali and Mangal Kumar. The injured friends were admitted to the local hospital for treatment.

While seeking shelter from the rain under a tree, lightning struck near the tree causing Rohit Kumar’s death and injuring the other three friends. The villagers are mourning the loss of Rohit, and the injured youths are currently undergoing medical treatment in the hospital.
