The counting of votes has begun for all 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Dumka seat is considered crucial in this election, being the stronghold of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Shibu Soren, who was elected MP from here seven times consecutively from 1980 to 2014, has been a prominent figure. The BJP has fielded “rebel daughter-in-law” Seeta Soren from Dumka this time, creating controversies within the family. The final phase of voting took place on 1st June, with a voter turnout of 73.50%. In the 2019 elections, the BJP’s Sunil Soren won from Dumka, defeating Shibu Soren.

Seeta Soren, the JMM candidate from Dumka, is currently leading with 11066 votes against Nalin Soren. Seeta has received a total of 78695 votes so far.

Seeta Soren is currently leading with 58127 votes, while Nalin Soren is trailing behind with 6702 votes. The counting is ongoing.
JMM Accuses BJP of Breaking Party Organization
After Seeta Soren joined the BJP, JMM accused her of breaking the party organization. JMM MLA Stephen Marandi stated that the contest in Dumka is not against Seeta Soren but against the BJP.
