TVS Motor Company, the second-largest seller of electric scooters in India, has recalled some units of its iQube electric scooter due to a defect. The company has asked customers who purchased iQube electric scooters between July 10, 2022, and September 29, 2023, to bring them back for inspection. TVS is recalling these units due to a defect in the frame of the scooter.

Several days ago, a video of a customer complaining about a broken frame/chassis on their iQube electric scooter went viral on social media. The customer reported that the frame of the TVS iQube electric scooter was breaking in the middle. After this incident, the company took action and decided to recall some units for inspection.

Recently, TVS added three new variants to the iQube electric scooter’s portfolio, including the company’s cheapest electric scooter option, which is available for Rs 94,999 ex-showroom. The TVS iQube’s cheapest variant comes with a 2.2 kWh battery pack option. Meanwhile, the iQube ST model was launched with two new battery pack options, including a 3.4 kWh battery and the largest battery pack option yet, a 5.1 kWh battery.
