Jharkhand still reeling under intense heat

Jharkhand is currently experiencing severe heatwave conditions with temperatures in several districts crossing 42 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, Daltonjganj recorded a temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius. According to the weather department, there is no relief from the heat and loo expected in the state until June 12. The entire state is under a yellow alert. However, the onset of monsoon in the state could be through Santhal Pargana. The monsoon may enter the state through Santhal Pargana and expand throughout the state a week after its arrival. But there is still some delay expected in the arrival of the monsoon. Monsoon is likely to arrive in the state between June 18 and June 20.

People seeking shade in Devghar due to scorching heat

The intense heat in Devghar is forcing people to seek shelter under umbrellas to protect themselves. Jamtara also experiences sunlight since morning and the possibility of thunderstorms. According to the weather department’s report, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in Devghar, Dumka, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih, Dhanbad, and Sahibganj with gusty winds on June 12. Partial clouds and light rain are expected in Ranchi and surrounding districts on June 13 and 14.

Heatwave grips Jharkhand with temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius

As per the weather department’s forecast, temperatures have crossed 40 degrees Celsius in 18 districts of Jharkhand, causing people to endure the intense heat. Palamu also experiences sunlight since morning. The weather department’s forecast suggests that on June 9, 10, and 11, heatwave conditions will continue in Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan. On June 12, heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in the northwestern, central, southern, and neighboring northeastern parts of the state. Eight districts may witness thunderstorms and lightning on this day.
