The mercury remains around 40 degrees in Patna and other districts, making the situation unbearable for the residents.
Delayed arrival of monsoon in Bihar
The Southwest monsoon is yet to arrive in Bihar, as per the weather department. Scientists suggest that the appearance of low-level clouds in the sky indicates the onset of monsoon. The weather department predicts rainfall in Bihar after June 11-12. Relief from the scorching heat is expected after the monsoon arrives, bringing respite to the residents around June 14-15.
Likelihood of heatwave in certain districts
Several districts in Bihar, including Patna, are on yellow alert due to the possibility of heatwaves. The weather department warns of hot days and warm nights in districts like Nawada, Aurangabad, and Arwal. The powerful easterly winds are expected to bring the entry of monsoon in Bihar soon, providing relief from the intense heatwave conditions prevailing in the region.
