Two Rajya Sabha MPs from Bihar tried their luck in the Lok Sabha elections. Vivek Thakur, contesting for the first time, won from the Nawada constituency. Meanwhile, Meesa Bharti, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, lost to Ramkripal Yadav. This leaves two Rajya Sabha seats vacant, one of which was with the BJP. The party now has the opportunity to send a leader to Delhi through the Rajya Sabha.
Pashupati Kumar Paras and His Political Standoff
Pashupati Kumar Paras resigned from his ministerial position due to his disagreement with Chirag Paswan contesting from the Hajipur seat. Despite his efforts to secure a place in the Lok Sabha elections, Paras found himself sidelined. He even considered joining the Mahagathbandhan but later reaffirmed his loyalty to the party. His path to Delhi now seems uncertain, even if he reaches the capital.
Upendra Kushwaha’s Political Struggle
Upendra Kushwaha was given a chance to contest in the Lok Sabha elections but faced competition from Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh. Despite initially being confident, Kushwaha ended up in third place. He now feels betrayed and believes that there was a conspiracy against him. His only way to regain political stature in Bihar seems to be through the Rajya Sabha. It remains to be seen if the BJP will offer him a seat in the upper house.
