On Sunday, a train accident was averted on the Grand Chord railway section of East Central Railway in Gaya district of Bihar. The overhead wire near the home signal of Manpur Junction on this railway section broke. The Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express and Ranchi-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express were stopped at precautionary stations before reaching the affected area. It took nearly two hours to repair the broken wire, causing inconvenience to the passengers of Vande Bharat and Jan Shatabdi Express.

Overhead wire broke and fell

On Sunday evening, the overhead wire near the home signal of Manpur Junction on the Gaya-Kodarma Grand Chord railway section broke and fell. Railway workers immediately informed the incident to the control room. Subsequently, a team from the traction department along with other departments reached the site and started the rescue work. After completing the maintenance work around 9 am, operations returned to normal.

Vande Bharat Express and Jan Shatabdi Express stopped first

According to railway sources, the Vande Bharat Express was stopped at Gurpa Railway Station and the Jan Shatabdi Express was stopped near Tonkuppa Railway Station. As a result, passengers of both these trains had to face inconvenience. Railway officials stated that due to the sudden breakage of the wire near the Manpur home signal, operations on this railway section were disrupted for nearly two hours. After repairing the wire, operations resumed. After operations resumed, railway officials took a sigh of relief with the passengers.
