Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer based in Bangalore, has started production of its electric scooter, Ather Rizta. The CEO of the company shared the first image of the scooter on social media. The Ather Rizta was launched in the Indian market on April 24, 2021, and comes with attractive features and maximum range. The scooter is available in two variants, each with its own battery pack.

The Ather Rizta comes in two variants, the Rizta S and the Rizta Z. The Rizta S has a 2.9 kWh battery, while the Rizta Z comes with a 2.9 kWh battery and an additional 3.7 kWh battery pack option. The 2.9 kWh battery provides a range of 123 km on a single charge. The larger battery pack variant is capable of providing a range of 160 km. All three Rizta variants have a top speed of 80 km/h.

Ather Energy’s CEO and co-founder, Tarun Mehta, announced the start of production for the Ather Rizta on social media. The first unit was made at Ather’s plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The company has designed the scooter as a comfortable family electric scooter, with a spacious seat and ample storage space. The scooter comes with a backrest support for the pillion rider, and a boot space of 56 litres.

The Rizta S variant of the Ather Rizta is priced at INR 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Rizta Z variant with the 2.9 kWh battery is priced at INR 1.24 lakh and the 3.7 kWh variant is priced at INR 1.44 lakh (both ex-showroom). The delivery of the scooter is expected to start from July 2021. The Ather Rizta is expected to be a game-changer for the Indian electric scooter market.
