Murder of a Goldsmith in Daulatpur, Raghopur Thana Area of Supaul
In Daulatpur, Raghopur Thana area of Supaul, a goldsmith was murdered by unknown miscreants by shooting him in the head. The incident took place while the businessman was sleeping at home, when the miscreants shot him through the window and fled the scene. Upon hearing the gunfire, relatives rushed him to Darbhanga for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Sintu Soni (28), son of Daulatpur resident Chitanarayan Goldsmith.
Wife’s Account of the Incident
The deceased’s wife, Jyoti Kumari, mentioned that she had gone to feed her husband at night, where he was upset about something. Despite trying to pacify him, he refused to eat and she eventually fell asleep. On Tuesday morning around 3 am, she heard gunshots and found her husband shot in the head. She immediately dialed 112 and informed the police, who took the injured to Raghopur Referral Hospital and later to a private hospital in Darbhanga, where he passed away during treatment.
Police Investigation and Family Background
The police are investigating the incident from various angles, as the deceased had been married twice before. His first marriage took place in Balbhadrapur, Veerpur, which ended in divorce within a year. He then married Jyoti Kumari in Ekadra village of Fulparas Thana area in Madhubani. The police have sent the body for postmortem at Sadar Hospital in Supaul for further investigation. The case is under thorough examination to determine the motive behind the murder.
