Attack on Muslim Ward Member in Jamui
In Jamui, some people attacked a Muslim ward member on Wednesday with a knife. They injured him by stabbing him in the back, hands, and several other places. The neighbors have accused him of voting for BJP and attacked him with a knife. The injured person was taken to the Sadar Hospital for treatment. When his condition became serious, he was referred to PMCH Patna for better treatment.
Identity of the Victim
The injured person belongs to Katha village in the Chandra Deep Thana area and is identified as Mo. Shahnavaz (37), a ward member of Ward Number 5. His wife is also a ward member. His brother, Mo. Anwar Shahzad, mentioned that Shahnavaz is a member of Ward Number 5, while his wife is a member of Ward Number 4. The injured person is currently undergoing treatment at PMCH.
Accusations and Attack
Mo. Anwar Shahzad explained that on Wednesday, when Shahnavaz was going to the market for personal work, the neighbors came with a knife near the Katha water tank. They accused him of getting votes for BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. They attacked him with a knife, causing serious injuries. The accused are alleged to be cattle thieves.
Previous Attacks and Injuries
Mo. Anwar Shahzad further stated that the accused people are cattle thieves who had previously attacked their family. Five people were injured in the previous attack, including him, his two sons, and two brothers. His brother was a witness in that case, so the accused threatened them by saying that even if the police couldn’t do anything to him, what could they do as witnesses. This led to another attack on them.
