Bihar’s Severe Heatwave:
People in most districts of Bihar, including the capital Patna, are suffering from intense heat these days. The scorching sun during the day is burning the skin, while the humid heat at night is causing profuse sweating. Those living in concrete flats are facing the worst conditions, as even fans and coolers are not providing relief, leading people to purchase air conditioners. However, the heat is so intense that even air conditioners are struggling to provide comfort, with the Meteorological Department issuing red alerts for several districts.
Relief on the Horizon:
Amidst these difficulties, there is some relief in sight as rain-like conditions are expected from June 15 onwards, indicating the imminent arrival of the monsoon in its final phase. According to the Meteorological Center in Patna, scientist SK Suman stated that until the monsoon enters Bihar, the heat must be endured. There is a possibility of light rainfall in the northern and northeastern parts of Bihar today, while no respite is expected in the southwestern parts for the next two days. The arrival of the monsoon in Bihar is eagerly awaited.
Current Weather Conditions in Bihar:
On June 13, a severe heatwave is predicted in Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Bhabua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Arwal, with temperatures reaching around 45°C. Red alerts have been issued for these districts, advising people not to venture outside during the afternoon. Similarly, orange and yellow alerts have been issued for other districts in Bihar, indicating high temperatures and discomfort due to the scorching heat. Some districts may witness light showers, while others continue to experience oppressive heat.
