Police investigation after the incident
In Purnia, a horrific dacoity incident involving bombings and firing has taken place. Around 24 dacoits first carried out dacoity in the homes of four families and spread terror by bombing and firing multiple rounds. They then fled after looting 12 Bhars of gold (approximately 120 grams), 2 kilograms of silver, and 2 lakh rupees in cash. When the dacoits were chased, they shot at two people, including a former ward councilor, leaving them in serious condition. The injured were admitted to the Purnia JMCH for treatment, where they were referred to a higher hospital upon observing the severity of their condition. The police started an investigation upon receiving information about the incident and recovered various items during the investigation.
12 Bhars of gold and approximately 2 kilograms of silver looted
The victim’s family member, Farhan, mentioned that it was around midnight when everyone was getting ready to sleep. Suddenly, there was intense firing and sounds of bombing from outside. Upon looking out the window, they saw several people approaching the house. All the criminals were armed. Shortly after, they entered the homes of Naeem and his relatives, showing weapons and beating Naeem, looting 12 Bhars of gold, approximately 2 kilograms of silver, and around 1 lakh 40 thousand in cash.
Former ward councilor and another person shot
During the pursuit of the dacoits, they shot at two people, including a former ward councilor. The relatives rushed both injured individuals to the hospital. Upon seeing the serious condition of the former ward councilor, Afak Alam, doctors referred him to a higher center. A bullet had hit Afak’s hand. While fleeing, the criminals left behind a hammer, 11 pairs of shoes, bamboo sticks, a cigarette box, a water bottle, a bullet, and a mobile cover near the riverbank in the village. The presidents of Baisi and Dagrua police stations collected several crucial pieces of evidence at the scene. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
पूर्णिया में बमबाजी और गोलीबारी कर भयानक डकैती की घटना के बाद पुलिस पहुंची। डकैतों ने 24 लोगों के घरों में डकैती की, बमबाजी की और फायरिंग की और 12 भर सोना, 2 किलो चांदी और 2 लाख रुपए लूटकर फरार हो गए। डकैतों का पीछा करने पर पुलिस ने गांव में नदी से अनेक चीजें बरामद की। घटना की जांच जारी है। डकैतों ने पूर्व वार्ड पार्षद सदस्य समेत दो लोगों को गोली मार दी और उन्हें गंभीर चोटें पहुंचाई। अपराधियों ने भागते हुए अपने बहुमूल्य सामान छोड़ दिया। गोली लगने वाले को अस्पताल में भर्ती कर दिया गया है।
