Implementation of National Food Security Act in Siwan

The Food and Consumer Protection Department in Siwan has issued directions to complete e-KYC for all 5.31 lakh ration card holders in the district. However, only 4.98 lakh beneficiaries have completed their e-KYC by the deadline of 15th June. Due to this, the deadline has been extended to 30th June for the remaining 20.92 lakh beneficiaries.

Alerting Cardholders

The District Supply Officer, Seema Kumari, has warned that ration cards of beneficiaries who do not complete their e-KYC will be deactivated. All dealers in the district have been instructed to ensure 100% completion of this task within the given timeframe. They have also been asked to educate all ration card holders about e-KYC.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Officials have highlighted that many ration card holders fail to complete e-KYC due to various reasons such as a family member’s death or relocation. To prevent misuse of ration cards, it is crucial for all beneficiaries to undergo e-KYC. Failure to do so will result in the removal of their names from the ration card list.

Ensuring Compliance

To avoid any disruptions in the distribution of food supplies, it is essential for all ration card holders in Siwan to complete their e-KYC as per the revised deadline. By following these instructions, the authorities aim to streamline the process and ensure that genuine beneficiaries receive their entitlements without any obstacles.
