Bihar Government Employees to Receive Increased Housing Allowance
All government employees in Bihar have received a big gift from the Nitish government. The cabinet has approved an increase of up to four percent in the housing allowance for Bihar government employees. According to the new housing allowance, employees living in Patna will receive 20% of their basic salary, while those in other cities will receive 10%.
Changes in Housing Allowance Rates for Different Areas
In addition to the increase for Patna residents, employees in semi-urban areas will now receive 7.5%, and those in rural areas will receive 5% in housing allowance. The cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, also approved 25 other proposals. The housing allowance for employees in Patna has been increased from 16% to 20%.
Details for Employees in Other Cities
Employees residing in cities like Araria, Ara, Aurangabad, Bagaha, Begusarai, Bettiah, Bhagalpur, Biharsharif, Buxar, Chapra, Darbhanga, and other cities will receive 10% of their basic salary as housing allowance. In semi-urban areas, the rate has been increased to 7.5%, while rural areas will receive 5%.
Cabinet Meeting Highlights
After the Lok Sabha elections, the Bihar cabinet met for the first time under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday. The cabinet approved 25 agenda items, including the creation of 247 new positions in ANM and GNM schools under the seven resolves initiative. Additionally, land survey employees will also receive an extension in their term.
