Smart Market to be Set up in Patna Slum Area

Patna is soon to have its first smart market in the slum areas, starting from the Bhawar Pokhar locality. Along with the market, G+2 buildings will also be constructed for those who are homeless in the slum areas. The smart market will not only have modern shops but also provide parking facilities for the shoppers.

Initiative by Ward Councillor Rahul Yadav

The proposal to create a smart market was sent to the municipal corporation by Ward Councillor Rahul Yadav from Ward No. 39. This initiative aims to provide permanent housing for those living in slums. The plan includes the construction of G+2 buildings for homeless families and the transformation of a filthy slum into a three-story building.

Land Identified for Smart Market Construction

A 06 katha piece of land has been earmarked for the construction of the smart market in Bhawar Pokhar. The market will consist of 50 shops with individual shopkeepers. Currently, most of the land in the area is encroached, and clearing it will begin the construction process. Additionally, a G+2 building with 30 rooms will be built on around two katha of land for those in need of housing. This initiative is expected to provide employment opportunities and increase revenue for the municipal corporation.
