Intense Heatwave in Rajasthan and Bihar
As the summer intensifies, Rajasthan and Bihar are experiencing extreme heatwaves. In the past 24 hours, 13 people have died in five districts of Bihar due to heatstroke. Aurangabad recorded the highest number of deaths with five people losing their lives. Saran and Gaya reported three deaths each, while Rohtas and Bhojpur reported one death each. Relatives claim that the victims developed high fever and started vomiting due to heatstroke, leading to their unfortunate demise despite being taken to the hospital.
Alert Issued in Various Districts
According to the weather department, an alert for a heatwave has been issued in several districts of Bihar including Patna, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Saran, and Siwan. Additionally, there is a possibility of rain in some areas of Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, and Katihar districts. The department has also issued an orange alert for the likelihood of severe heatwave in some parts of the state.
Severe Heatwave Conditions in Bihar
In the past 24 hours, several districts in Bihar recorded temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. The highest temperatures were recorded in locations such as Patna, Gaya, Chapra, Dehri, Sheikhpura, Gopalganj, Jamui, Buxar, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Nawada, Rajgir, Jiradei, Arwal, Bikramganj, and Munger. Some districts also reported cooler temperatures with the weather department predicting continued hot weather in certain regions of Bihar.
No Immediate Weather Changes Expected
While some parts of Bihar experienced light to moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours, the rest of the state remained dry. The intense heatwave continues in various districts like Gaya, Buxar, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, and Arwal. The weather department forecasts no immediate changes in the monsoon pattern and anticipates further intensification of the heatwave in specific regions of Bihar over the next few days.
