Outrage over the death of Aurangabad district’s famous student Shreya
People are getting outraged over the death of Shreya, a famous student from Aurangabad district. On Saturday night, a group of youths near Ramesh Chowk demanded the arrest of the culprits by jamming the road. Upon receiving information about the road blockade in Aurangabad, DSP 1 Vinod Kumar Singh reached with his team and cleared the road after explaining to the youths. The DSP assured the youths that legal action will be taken against the culprits within 24 hours.
Demands for action after the disappearance of the student
Shreya, the daughter of Abhay Kumar, a resident of Khaira village in Nabinagar block, left home for coaching on Tuesday morning at 6 am and did not return home all day. Her mother Urmila Devi lodged a complaint at Nabinagar police station regarding the kidnapping case. The police began searching for the student, and after about 48 hours of the initial report, her body was found near the Indrapuri Barrage.
Allegations of murder and demand for arrests
On Friday, the relatives placed Shreya’s body near the bus stand police station and demanded the arrest of the culprits by alleging murder. Following this, under the direction of Aurangabad SP, an SIT team was formed under the leadership of Sadar SDPO 1. The youth staged protests demanding justice for Shreya.
Death due to drowning, not poisoning or weapon
On Saturday afternoon, Sadar SDPO 1 Sanjay Kumar Pandey informed the press that Shreya’s death was not due to poisoning or a weapon as per the postmortem report. Her death was caused by drowning in water. The incident is being looked at in connection with a love affair. MPs and other public representatives have demanded an investigation into the incident.
