Jharkhand Monsoon Update
This year, uncertainty is increasing regarding the onset of monsoon in Jharkhand. The monsoon is expected to enter Jharkhand with a considerable delay. The possibility of monsoon entering Jharkhand between June 23 and 25 is being considered. There is no likelihood of its arrival in the state for the next five days. According to the forecast, it may take eight to nine days for the monsoon to arrive. During this period, some parts of Bihar and Bengal are also likely to be affected.
Entry of Monsoon in Jharkhand
As per the latest forecast from the weather department, in the next five days, monsoon is predicted to arrive in Maharashtra, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of the Bay of Bengal, West Bengal, and some parts of Bihar. After the completion of this prediction, it may take four to five days for the monsoon to arrive in Jharkhand. The northern limit of the monsoon passing through various parts of the country is currently passing through Navsari, Jalgaon, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vijaynagaram, and Islampur.
Timely Arrival of Monsoon in the Past Decade
In the past decade, monsoon arrived on time in Jharkhand only three times and was delayed seven times. From 2014 to 2023, monsoon entered Jharkhand only three times ★on June 15 in 2015, June 13 in 2020, and June 12 in 2021.

According to meteorologist Abhishek Anand from the weather department, there is no specific date for the arrival of monsoon. Based on studies, there is an average duration between the onset and withdrawal of monsoon, during which monsoon enters and exits. The duration is determined by the dates of monsoon onset and withdrawal, leading to a specific period.
