Bihar Weather Update

The anticipation for the arrival of monsoon in Bihar has left people eagerly waiting. Currently, the weather department has provided important information regarding the heatwave in South-West and South-Central Bihar. There are chances of scorching heat prevailing in the next 48 hours. IMD has issued red and orange alerts for this region, with a red alert being in effect for the past four days. IMD has stated that suitable weather conditions are forming to advance the monsoon in the region, with a possibility of rain in some parts of Bihar from 21-22 June.

Deadly Heatwave in Bihar

On Monday, a severe heatwave was recorded in 17 districts/cities of the state, with the most intense heatwave being noted in 14 districts. Fatal heatwave conditions were observed in Gaya, Dehri, Vikramganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Vaishali, and Arwal. The highest temperatures recorded in these districts/cities ranged from 45 to 47 degrees Celsius, indicating the severity of the heatwave. The highest temperature in the state was registered in Aurangabad at 46.9 degrees Celsius.

Intense Heatwave Expected Today in Bihar

IMD has issued red and orange alerts for the next two days in districts like Buxar, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Patna, Jehanabad, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, Samastipur, Nawada, and Nalanda due to the forecast of intense heatwave conditions.

Possibility of Rain in Some Parts

IMD forecasts a slight to moderate chance of rain with thunderstorms in the North-West, North-Central, North-East, and South-East districts of Bihar for the next two days. This could lead to pleasant weather conditions in the region.
